White papers and e-books can offer solutions to problems your customers or prospects are facing — showcasing your products, services or expertise.

What’s the difference between a white paper and an e-book?
Not much! Both are attractively formatted digital documents, typically published as PDFs. Both offer solid information and advice on an industry topic, ultimately making a case for why your products or solutions are the best. White papers tend to be longer (10-40 pages), providing more technical information and case studies appropriate for a B2B audience. E-books are typically shorter (6-10 pages) and may have a more visual focus designed to appeal to either a B2B or B2C audience.
How long is a white paper or e-book, and what's the turnaround time?
White papers / e-books vary in length, but are generally between 6 and 20 pages. In some cases, a white paper can be longer (30-40 pages).

How is a white paper / e-book distributed?
In a marketing context, white papers and e-books are typically offered in PDF format as a free download on a company’s website. Most brands place this document on a dedicated landing page that permits download in exchange for basic contact information. Your website visitor has now entered your sales funnel.
