You tell us — on the content brief. For each web page, you have the opportunity to answer a series of questions. You can tell us what you want us to include on the page, the desired call to action, and any sources to consult. You can offer links or upload materials such as bullet points, notes, and current site copy you want rewritten. You can also share links to other web pages that you love, including those of competitors. Our experienced writers will use these materials as a reference point for crafting copy that resonates with the style you prefer.

If your website is a work in progress, that’s no problem. Many clients place several separate orders for website copy. You can place an order for the pages you need now, and additional orders when you reach a decision about the rest.

When your website copy is ready, you’ll be emailed a link (also accessible from your dashboard) to view it on our platform text editor. From here, you can simply copy/paste the text into your chosen web platform (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace) or download it as a .doc file to share with your developers.

With Prose, you don’t have to get tangled in a million email threads with drafts at various stages of completion and revision. Our free cloud platform makes it easy to track the status of each web page we are writing for you. On your dashboard, you’ll be able to see a full list of the website pages and the deadline and status of each one.

As many as you need. Some of our clients’ websites contain only a few basic pages (e.g., "About Us," "Our Products," and "FAQs") while other sites contain literally hundreds of pages.

Length is up to you. On the content brief, share your preference for how long the pages should be. We recommend 300-400 words per page — more concise than an article, but more substantial (and SEO-rich) than a dash of copy.

Once you’ve selected your length, we’ll assume that you want all your pages the same length. If some of your pages should be much longer or shorter, you’ll want to create a separate order for each length. For example, you can create one order for all the pages of 400 words and another order for all the pages of 600 words.
